UM POEMA DE YUMÊ

 BAROQUE MARINA

spume-cataract-blue, the sea's nebula-near-white-blue of the sea whitens into krishna-lotus-blue; dolphin furrows marine-musk-blue in curvets, a graceful cambodian dancer with an apsara's feet; and (myriad!) aquatic birds, mandalic whirling dervishes meru-bound, beneath feather-lakshmi-sky an immense enameled gate opens like a young bride. fillets of violet-blue in an insect's pupils see: on white sand sheets, an old obese lady, vulva nested in hair gone white, ferments tears in liqueur glasses under an umbrella; a sardonic german biochemist with long silverplated sideburns slices prosciutto between expectorations; a lovely vietcong nymph with sinuous mechanical legs: her gaze burns like napalm. in the end, the arctic penguin is banished for excessive daltonism; at last there is nothing to be seen but the purest blue.

Poema de Claudio Daniel, do livro Yumê, traduzido para o inglês por Chris Daniels.
